This is a bit of an interruption from contemplating the intersection of Christ with the human mind. But not completely.

Who is my enemy that is so malicious and does me so much harm? There is so much of human suffering at the hands of other humans. There is the evil one with his relentless desire to pull us away from obedience to our Lord. The mind, however, struggles daily against its own enticements (James 4).

I’ve been thinking about what it means to have the “mind of Christ” and to have our minds renewed and transformed by Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit. That is an ongoing process, and we feel its ups and downs keenly. The glory of Psalm 119 is the light that is given to us in God’s Word, and we have that Light given to us in the person of Jesus Christ, and made available to us today through the work of the Holy Spirit. We are not without grace, guidance, and growth. But more on that in a later post.

Today, I hope you will enjoy this downloadable prayer of hope and security in the Lord. The psalmist knew where to set his appeals and where to rest his mind and hope. I set my copy in a photo frame so I could remember.

Spring is beautiful today, is it not? (Unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, that is.)
