SAMECH (Sin/Shin)–ס
113-120
113I hate double-minded people, but I love your law. 114You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. 115Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God! 116Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. 117Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees. 118You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their delusions come to nothing. 118All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes. 119My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws. (NIV)
PRAYER: Oh, Father! I reject the self-grown, wild and unfaithful thoughts of my own race which grow like uncultivated vines, contrary to the will of the gardener; but I love and choose your instruction, Lord. You alone are my hiding place and my shield when I am overwhelmed. I have set my hope in your word, which prunes and guides me for effective service, and I wait for it. Go away from me, then, you who run wild in your own imaginations, who do evil by rejecting the Lord’s discipline! I will not join with you, for you distract me, infect me, and tear at my resolve (2 Cor. 6;14), but I will keep the commands of my God.
I turn to you, O my God, and plead with you to sustain me in this resolve, for only you can. Keep me according to the promise in your word and then I will live (Hab. 2:4). Do not let me fail and thus bring dishonor to the hope of your word; do not leave me. Hold me up by your Spirit, for by your sustaining power I will live safely in you.
You reject all who abuse, forget, or reject your commands, for all their own planning proves deceptive delusions and come to nothing. I see that you put away the wicked like dross from pure gold; they will not endure though it does not seem that way now. You are righteous and trustworthy, therefore I love your law! Your holiness brings me to my knees in awe and wonder; my heart trembles at your justice motivated by purest love. Bend my mind to obedience, Lord, and I will receive it.

SAMECH – 113I hate vain thoughts; but thy law do I love. 114Thou art my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. 115 Depart from me, you evildoers, for I will keep the commandments of my God. 116Uphold me according unto your word, that I may live, and let me not be ashamed of my hope. 117 Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe; and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually. 118Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes; for their deceit is falsehood. 119Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross, therefore I love your testimonies. 120My flesh trembleth for fear of thee, and I am afraid of thy judgments. 113 SAMECH. Los pensamientos vanos aborrezco; Mas amo tu ley.
114 Mi escondedero y mi escudo eres tú: En tu palabra he esperado.
(RVR)
