¹⁶⁹May my cry come before you, LORD: give me understanding according to your word. ¹⁷⁰May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise. ¹⁷¹May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees. ¹⁷²May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous. ¹⁷³May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. ¹⁷⁴I long for your salvation, LORD, and your law gives me delight. ¹⁷⁵Let me live that I may praise you, and may your laws sustain me. ¹⁷⁶I have strayed like a lost sheep. See your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands. (NIV)

PRAYER: Lord of my life, Father in heaven, open the heavens and bend close to hear my cry; give me understanding that I will pray in alignment with Your Word, for I need you. Let my prayer come before You; deliver me from all evil according to all you have promised or I am undone.

As water from a fountain springs up and spills over, I will praise you lavishly and continually before men, for you alone have been my Teacher and the Shepherd of my soul. My heart literally sings with joy as I then teach others your word, for all of your words are faithful and true.

Therefore, I pray that you will reach out your hand to help me in this, for you have made me to choose your admonition above all who attempt to obstruct my way.  Your salvation alone, O LORD, is my heart’s sole desire, being emptied of all else; even as I wait for it, your law is sweet to me and fills my soul with delight. Your law is my supreme comfort!

Let my soul live and not grow cold and die; let me praise you with my mouth, for You alone are life and the source of all joy. Unfold your counsel, which I love, for I need Your help. Though I am a dumb, senseless sheep and have mindlessly gone astray or have become a wanderer by the hand of my adversaries, I continually seek you; come looking for me and bring me home, for my soul longs for the security of Your voice, as a sheep longs for its Shepherd.
